Pictured: the public schoolboy who called historian Mary Beard a 'filthy old slut'

Oliver Rawlings, 20, used the social networking site to label the Cambridge University professor a "filthy old slut" and make a highly offensive sexual comment about her.

Yesterday Professor Beard, who outed him as a Twitter troll by retweeting the remark to all her followers, offered to take the Nottingham University student "out for a drink and smack his bottom".

But Mr Rawlings' aunt has defended her nephew, saying the remarks
were "totally out of character".

Joy Rawlings, 62, told the Daily Mail: "He is normally a very polite and well-mannered young man. His parents won't be impressed in the slightest."

Mr Rawlings lives in a £1.2 million gated home in Hale, Greater Manchester with his mother and accountant father. He now studies at Nottingham University, according to his Facebook page, having attended £10,344-a-year Cheadle Hulme School.
