Built out of white marble and standing in formally laid-out walled gardens, the Taj Mahal is regarded as the most perfect jewel of Muslim art in India. The emperor was consequently jailed and, it is said, could then only see the Taj Mahal out of his small cell window.

Movie Review B.A. Pass: Without honours

There is so little attention paid, in a thought-through manner, to the questions arising from marital emptiness and genteel, soul-sucking poverty, and urban decay that when a film like B.A. Pass comes along, you are willing it to be about all of this and more. Ajay Bahl's directorial debut lays out a plot with promise, but then belies it, by not giving us as much as it could, and should have.

Nasha: Movie Review

If you are expecting the barefaced boldness of Poonam Pandey's provocative tweets from her debut film, you would be better-off glued to her social media account. With the aesthetics of Jism that director Amit Saxena brings to the film, though Nasha has enough skin-show, it doesn't end up as a sleaze-fest. Thereby it marginally escapes falling in the B-grade zone that is meant for downright titillation. But at the same time it is so shallow on story that it can't even win an A-grade esthetic, despite the namesake certification.

“They say that large, cold-blooded dinosaurs could have done the same and enjoyed a warm body temperature without the need to generate the heat in their own cells through burning food energy like warm-blooded animals.”

Creation of Telangana: Details emerge, Hyderabad to be a Union territory

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad is likely to be a Union territory for five years and will act as joint capital of the two states to be created out of the bifurcation of the present Andhra Pradesh.

Crucial day for Telangana, Congress likely to reach a decision today

Well-placed sources said while Congress president Sonia Gandhi and party vice-president Rahul Gandhi have already given their nod to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh despite stiff opposition from various quarters, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was reluctant in view of intelligence agencies raising security concerns over the proposed move.
However, a senior leader said the Congress leadership has decided to bite the bullet as the issue has been hanging fire for several decades now and any further delay in the decision could prove counter-productive for the party.

Rayala Telangana is a crude attempt to maintain Reddy dominance

Hard-nosed analysts know that although India is a democracy, Indian politics is all about caste.
The Congress in Andhra Pradesh has been the domain of the Reddys ever since it struck deep roots in this part of the world with the Kapus (an intermediate farming caste) and the Dalits as junior partners. Reddys form only 8% of the state's population but as feudal lords in a state where land reforms have been conspicuous by their absence, their influence extends far beyond their numbers.
