‘One Doesn't Become Legend without Controversies’ Quips Shah Rukh Khan

superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who is currently in London to promote his upcoming film "Chennai Express", said he has never tried to portray himself in the wrong light intentionally.
"As an entertainer for 22 years, one thing is clear in my head that I have never tried to depict anything wrong intentionally," Shah Rukh told Press Trust of India.

"People will always have their viewpoints, especially now with social media. But one doesn't become a legend without controversies," he added.
The 47-year-old actor made the comments while addressing the media at Courthouse Hotel in central London.
Rohit Shetty's directorial "Chennai Express" reunites "Om Shanti Om" co-stars - Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. The film is set to have a grand opening in the UK where it is expected to hit around 125 cinemas and 170 screens.

Excited over the release, Shah Rukh said, "I am very glad the film is getting such a big release here. UK audiences are fantastic. I don't believe that actors have regional appeal but I have to accept that some of my star value is largely down to audiences here."  
Speaking about the widest release of "Chennai Express" in the UK, film's co-producer Siddharth Roy Kapur said, "As a Shah Rukh starrer and an all-out commercial entertainer, it does deserve the widest release of all time. In terms of marketing as well, we have gone all out. We just wanted to ensure that it is a movie that everyone has as their first choice in this festival season when people want to go out and watch a movie."
"Chennai Express", which falls in to the genre action comedy, is slated to release on 9 August. Shah Rukh plays a 40-year-old unmarried man on his way to Rameshwaram, while Deepika essays the role of a south Indian girl. The much hyped film is expected to beat the box office collection record of Salman Khan's "Ek Tha Tiger".
