Stepping onto the blue carpet in honor of her new flick, Katy Perry had a blast at the press event for "Smurfs 2" in Cancun, Mexico this morning (April 22).
The "Part of Me" songstress rocked a floral dark blue dress while smiling ear-to-ear for the cameras as she supplied hugs to her favorite gal pal Smurfette.

Meanwhile, Katy recently announced that she's working on her third album, and shared a few important guest artists on her tracks. One of the artists featured on the album is "Titanium" singer Sia.
Although she's devoted a lot of time and energy in the studio, there is still no release date at this time.
She spent the past few years singing sugary pop songs and dressing in candy-themed
concert getups, and now it seems Katy Perry is ready to move on.
The “Teenage Dream” songstress just posted a short video online in which she sets fire to her iconic blue wig, signifying a darker sound is on the way.

Perry’s new single “Roar” is slated to release on August 12th, while her album Prism will go live on October 22nd.
Given her more serious demeanor and up-and-down romance with  Katy seems poised to reinvent herself all over again
